This standard applies to procedures and requirements for computer output microfilm generated directly onto 105 mm film.
a. The first generation microfiche is produced directly with a computer output microfilm (COM) recorder.
b. Microfiche duplicates are made from first generation microfiche as produced in a above.
This standard excludes:
a. Graphic configurations
b. Production of a first generation microfiche by methods other than a COM recorder
c. Sub duplicates made from a first generation microfilm produced by other methods than a COM recorder.
